Built in 1734 ( replacing a 15th-century building ) it features Georgian architecture with an unusual, largely circular design. It is the only church building to have been designed by the architect William Adam. |

The church was originally founded in 1874 as the 'Burnbank Mission Station' of St John's Free Church. The church was rebuilt in 1880 with a design by architect John Hutchison exhibiting features in the 13th-century Gothic style. |
