View
to the West from Monarch
Pass
in the Sawatch Range of the Colorado Rockies The pass is widely considered one of the most scenic in Colorado, offering a panoramic view of the southern end of the Sawatch Range from the summit. The pass is located on the continental divide of North America. ( Note: A continental divide is a line of elevated terrain forming a boundary between two watersheds such that water falling on one side of the border travels to one ocean / body of water, and water on the other side travels to another, generally on the opposite side of a continent. ) |
