bridge over the river Kelvin
replaced the earlier narrow, hump-backed Garscube Bridge, It was widened in cast-iron in the 1850s to carry water mains from Mugdock Reservoir to Glasgow. The new bridge was designed to carry the water mains and also a double line of tram tracks to Milngavie. |
