a Category C listed building in Lenzie Built in 1858 as a " ticket villa ":- The history of Lenzie starts from 1842 when the Edinburgh - Glasgow Railway opened and a station built to serve Kirkintilloch. The building of houses for commuters to Glasgow began about 1848 and encouraged by the offer of free season tickets by the railway company to people building large villas near stations. |

Campsie Fells
from the Lenzie Moss Local Nature Reserve Lenzie Moss is a marshy area comprising of lowland raised bogs. These were once exploited for peat but now feature deciduous woodland mainly of silver birch. The area is a sanctuary for wildlife, including rabbits, deer and foxes. |
